The land of the Trulli

Castellana Grotte As soon as you look in this magical underground world of the Castellana caves you will find the largest cave lava maze in Italy as you descend into your throat. Billions of drops of lime enriched with water powder have created this 100 m long and 50 m wide helix. More and more caves with the most fantastic facilities to do this. With the participation in the long, two hour tour, ending in the most beautiful part, the White Grotto (White Grotto) with the best crystalline structures, formerly passing through the Red Corridor you can admire all this. As a glittering velvet hanging from Alabastri's red iron curtain from the ceiling. But inside is cool, so wear warm clothes and wear slip shoes! Everyday. Every hour there are guided tours: 9:30 to 17:30, the White Grove 9-17, every day 09:30 November to mid March at 12:30, with Cave Grove 10-12. Normal adult tours 8 euros (white cave 13 euros), children 6-14 years 6,50 euros (White Cave 10,50 euros), up to 6 years free. Dinosaur Park Perhaps the largest, at least 10 m high and 18 m long Brachiosaurus is the primary attraction. Much smaller, only about 3 m in length, is the Coelophysis, which has lived up to 225 million years ago, and probably the oldest dinosaur ever existed. All of these prehistoric earth dwellers and many others (for a total of about 20) can be seen in original resin sizes in the dinosaur park at Castellana Grotte. The surrounding landscape is as recreated as it may have been in ancient times. March-October. Hours 09:00, daily ticket 5,50 euros, children up to 5 years free.
